Cosmic Energies 28/02-28/03/2025

A new moon happens when the sun and the moon come together at the same degree of a sign. Looking up from Earth, they appear at the same spot. This so-called conjunction of the Sun and the Moon sets the energy for the whole 28-day moon cycle. This upcoming cycle is going to be a legendary one, for sure!

We have 6 (!) placements in Pisces, a total lunar eclipse, Neptune in the cosmic gap, black moon Lilith switching signs, and, as the cherry on top, the astrological new year all happening within this cycle. If this sounds like a lot to you, let this be your mantra through the following 28 days: “I let go. I let it flow. I surrender to the unknown.”

New Moon - the starting point

The new moon happens at 10° Pisces (07:44 am ICT/UTC+7) and brings big peace energy. Pisces, the sign of spirituality, intuition and empathy connects us to our dreams, higher consciousness, and creative side - if we allow ourselves to become silent and trust the process of surrendering.

Jupiter, the planet of expansion and growth in the sign of Gemini, builds a challenging square aspect to the new moon, holding our mind, ego, and brain against this flowing Pisces-state. A classic brain-vs.-heart matter where it’s not about shutting one out completely, but allowing both to dance with each other to bring a healthy balance between feeling and knowing.

Mars, representing our drive, willpower and assertiveness, stands in a very harmonious trine to this new moon, giving us an energy boost, especially since he just came out of a very long retrograde phase and now focuses all its energy, that was turned inward for the last months, to push things forward and make a move. In the sign of cancer, Mars is very protective around family, home, traditions, etc. so this new moon cycle is a perfect time for ancestral healing, making peace with your family and loved ones, or putting your physical energy into making your home more beautiful.

By the time of this new moon, there are 6 placements in the sign of Pisces: The sun (our consciousness), the moon (our subconsciousness), Saturn (our structures and limitations), Mercury (the way we think and communicate), the North Node (our destiny) and Neptune (our inspiration, intuition). Now when all these powerful energies come together in the intuitive, creative sign Pisces, this is a unique opportunity for us to connect with our truest desires, our highest hopes and secret wishes, all the things we don’t dare to dream about, and all the things we don’t even KNOW we dream about! And once we connect with them, we can write, speak, paint, or dance them into existence. This cycle is about manifesting the WHAT and then allowing the universe to figure out the HOW. Don’t overthink, just feel.

Uranus, the breaker of chains, is forming a harmonic aspect to Mercury, Saturn, the North Node and Neptune. Uranus stands for sudden, unexpected impulses, so this constellation is an invitation to follow your insights (Mercury), align with your soul purpose (North Node) and manifest (Saturn) your dreams (Neptune) in completely new ways (Uranus)!

I have mentioned it in the last New Moon News already, but this is important throughout the whole year: be as sober as possible. The lower-frequency attributes of so much Piscean energy are illusions, addictions and psychoses. So it is absolutely vital to know our own energy to be able to stay centred, grounded and trust our intuition. Alcohol and other substances change our vibration, frequency and energy field, and as much as I love a glass of wine myself, it might cloud our perception and we need to be clear and steady within ourselves more than ever this year.

Mercury conjunct Neptune and North Node at 27/29° Pisces

When the planet of communication comes together with the North Node and Neptune, creative expression, healing conversations and intuitive communication (channeling, telepathy, etc.) are big topics these days. Don’t be surprised when the person you are thinking about is calling you at the same minute - we’re all connected! Our focus and attention span might suffer a bit though - be cautious when driving!

Venus turns retrograde at 11° Aries

Retrograde phases are always an invitation to go inward and reflect. Venus, the planet of love, beauty and our values will be in retrograde until 12 April 2025. Time to check in on our relationships and finances. Is it love or just lust? Is what we have built really what we desire? Are we sure we want to take the risk?

The energy of the way we communicate will from now on be less flowery, romantic, and poetic and more direct, straightforward, and yes, even a bit head-through-the-wall-ish. The harmonious sextile to Pluto encourages us to talk about uncomfortable topics. Sometimes we need to point a finger into the wound to start the healing process.

Sun conjunct Saturn at 22° Pisces

This constellation brings in a certain seriousness. Saturn stands for structure, rules, and regulations and wants us to set healthy boundaries for ourselves and others. As the full moon lunar eclipse energy is already building up, we might be confronted with our own limitations. For now, the best way to deal with them is to observe and accept them. A big shift is about to happen.

Full Moon & Total Lunar Eclipse at 24° Virgo

Eclipses come in pairs (one solar and one lunar eclipse), when the lunar nodes are involved in the new or full moon. They are the universe’s tool for cosmic course corrections. This is when we get the chance to solve and clear Karma (South Node) and are being (re)aligned with our true purpose (North Node).

As if the cosmic interference of a total lunar eclipse is not a big enough shift already, it gets gracious support from Uranus - the breaker of chains, who makes sure we don’t miss any sudden plot twists, eruptions or changes - each of us individually, but also as a collective. The sun (our essence) and the North Node (our destiny) are positioned right in between the structures (Saturn) and the dissolving of structures (Neptune), while the rebel Uranus is tearing it all down to build something completely new. Uranus is in Taurus, representing our bodies and Mother Earth. This is big. This is massive. Our planet might shake, tremble and flood and so might we. Hydrate. Feed your body the healthy stuff, and ground yourself as much as you can during the next 2 weeks (until the next eclipse). And remember our mantra: I let go. I let it flow. I surrender to the unknown.

Mercury turns retrograde at 9° Aries

Retrograde phases are always a chance for introspection. Mercury, the planet of communication has 3 retrograde phases each year, to 3 weeks each. This one will last until 7 April 2025. What a blessing to experience this retrograde phase during the eclipse season! Even though their reputation is not the best, Mercury’s retrograde phases are a fantastic time to practice thinking before talking (especially in the fiery sign of Aries), a time to clarify misunderstandings, a time to solve and talk about uncertainties. So the total lunar eclipse full moon sheds light on our subconscious darkness, and the retrograde Mercury then helps us to talk, clear and solve anything we need to deal with before we can move forward.

Neptune has been hovering in the last degree of his own sign Pisces since 03/03/2025. This is what we call the cosmic gap. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, and that very last degree of this mystical sign, right before a new cycle starts again in Aries, is the magical place where end and beginning melt into each other. Where the snake bites its own tail. Where Omega blends into Alpha again. Neptune, the ruler of Pisces, has been moving through its own sign since April 2011 and will switch into Aries with the next new moon end of March, starting a new cycle. But now, in this last degree of Pisces, the place of pure magic that everything is being created from, Neptune represents peace, unconditional love, spiritual initiations, intuition, clair senses, and higher realms. The veil hasn’t been this thin since 164 years, that was the last time Neptune was in the cosmic gap.

The sun, representing our consciousness, our core, our essence, is passing Neptune in this cosmic gap, allowing us to fully tap into our intuition, before, at 16:01 entering Aries, marking the beginning of the astrological new year.

Spring is here (northern Hemisphere), which means, life is coming back in new forms, new ways, new shapes.

The sun is coming together with Venus and Mercury while Pluto brings a big boost of power, vitality and courage into our relationships and communication. This is the time to master difficult conversations with love and certainty.

Mars square Chiron at 22° Cancer/Aries

This is the 3rd time that Mars, our drive, willpower and assertiveness, comes into a challenging square to Chiron, the wounded healer. Look or think back to the first and second time (14/10/2024 and 04/02/2025) did any conflicts or old wounds around territory, home, safety, or family come up? And were you able to solve them? If not, they might pop up again now for you to heal and let go.

Lilith enters Scorpio

Lilith represents the wild, deep feminine side in all of us. Everything the patriarchy has tried to suppress: intuition, witchcraft, living in tune with the cycles of nature, sexuality, all things LGBTQ+, the outsiders, everything our society considers taboo and wants to shut down. Now when this powerhouse enters the sign of Scorpio which is all about deep transformation, sex, death and rebirth, one thing is for sure: for the next 9 months (until 21 December 2025) a lot of darkness will come to the surface. Unapologetically true, brutally honest, and painfully healing. This combination is about deep emotions and facing the truth. Heavy floods are possible and big scandals around sex work, child trafficking, forced marriages, female reproduction rights, etc. On the same day, the retrograde Venus re-enters Pisces, which is the ultimate peace energy. So let’s keep in mind that we need to look at the shadows if we truly want to heal.
